Lake Superior College article

Lake Superior College was recently featured in the September-October 2017 issue of the Duluthian.

The article covers Lake Superior College's partnership with the Sappi pulp and paper mill in Cloquet, Minnesota to provide the related instruction for dual-training grants received under the Minnesota PIPELINE Project. Dual-training programs provide structured on-the-job training and related instruction so employees can develop the necessary occupational competencies to succeed in their chosen career.

The Sappi facility was recently visited by the Office of Higher Education for a dual-training grant visit. The representative was able to meet the students, tour the facility, and see the commitment of the training committee planning efforts to provide the best possible skill development for its employees while keeping steady production of Sappiā€™s products. The representative commented on the careful planning that was done to determine the best length of time, learning styles, materials, and class sizes that would best fit the adult learner.
