Bridging the Skills Gap with Apprenticeships

May 26, 2017

Manufacturing Apprenticeships

This month Enterprise Minnesota released its State of Manufacturing Survey, and 68% of manufacturers said it was difficult to find workers with the right skills for available jobs. One way to bridge that skills gap? Investing in apprenticeship programs and a stronger workforce.

Since 2014, the Minnesota Advanced Manufacturing Partnership has been working to establish employer-driven apprenticeships and dual-training programs at our twelve community colleges throughout Minnesota. We have also developed +Connect, a new industry-driven training program that provides the required instruction for apprenticeships and utilizes telepresence technology so that employees can train right at the workplace.

Read what U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar has to say about apprenticeships in a new article from the Winona Daily News: Investing in a 21st Century Workforce.
